Mn deficiency occurs initially on the younger leaves. Chlorosis develops between the veins, while a narrow area on each side of the veins remains green. As the small veins remain green as well, a mosaic-shaped pattern appears.
Light Manganese deficiency
Can be confused with Fe deficiency, which has very similar symptoms on younger leaves. If Fe is lacking, the interveinal chloroses always start on the youngest leaves, while at Mn deficiency the very young leaves can keep an olive green colour in the beginning.
Mg deficiency also shows intercostal chlorosis and necrosis, but the symptoms start on older leaves.
